The development of a preventive maintenance concept for new systems is challenging, since there usually is a large amount of uncertainty in the expected failure behavior of the new system. In the Master's thesis we created a framework to support decision making in the development of a maintenance concept for new systems. Existing models for maintenance optimization mainly focus on a single objective: either only minimization of expected maintenance costs, or only decreasing the expected downtime due to failures and preventive maintenance. These objectives can be conflicting. We have developed a multi-objective optimization model that considers both objectives simultaneously.
In the webinar Joep Hoedemakers will elaborate on the relevance of the Master's thesis for other companies, Oscar Moers will place the thesis in the context of the thesis company (Lely) and Claudia Fecarotti will put the thesis in a broader academic context.
