Forecasting for spare parts management: better forecasting, better inventory decisions

For the third consecutive year, SLF organized its Back to College event, bringing together academics and practitioners around a current topic in service logistics. This year's edition, hosted by TU Eindhoven, focused on forecasting for spare parts management.

With contributions from Prof. Ruud Teunter (University of Groningen) and Rogier Zoun (Gordian Logistic Experts), participants explored both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of forecasting intermittent demand.

A key takeaway? Better forecasts lead to better inventory decisions.

The presentations sparked lively discussions that continued during the networking drinks afterwards, making it another successful Back to College edition.
