Each year, SLF awards the best Bachelor’s and/or Master’s thesis in the field of service logistics with the SLF Thesis Award. The award ceremony traditionally takes place during the SLF Service Leadership Summit. The winner receives a cash prize and gains direct access to professionals and potential employers. In addition, the winner joins the professional jury for the SLF Thesis Award in the following year.
But it’s not only the jury who decides—the audience also has a vote. After the pitch battle, the audience selects the best presentation, determining the winner of the Public Award. This means there are two prizes to win: a jury award and a public award.
Nominees
This year, we have five nominees. In early November, the jury will select the two highest-rated theses. These two nominees will proceed to the final and take the stage at the SLF Service Leadership Summit on Wednesday, 25 November to pitch their research to the jury and Summit attendees.

Jury – SLF Thesis Award 2026
The jury consists of experts from industry, academia, and the winner of the previous year.
In addition to evaluating the quality of the thesis, the jury assesses which finalist best presents the key highlights of their work during the pitch battle—with the most enthusiasm and strongest presentation skills.
This year, the jury consists of the following six members:
• Hans van Waveren - SLF - Juryvoorzitter
• Johan Faes - Faes Group
• Erik Hoving - Districon
• Bart Vos - Maastricht University
• Minou Voortman - CQM
• Arjen Wierikx - Hogeschool Utrecht
